Welcome to the new Slytherin Dungeons website! Here you can learn more about Slytherin, scales, our four-time cup-winning Quidditch team, and our house newspaper, the SerpenTimes. When you're ready, I trust you'll know how to get to the common room.
Slytherin is one of the four Houses at Hogwarts, founded by Salazar Slytherin. Slytherin instructed the Sorting Hat to pick students who had a few particular characteristics he most valued: cunning, resourcefulness, and ambition.
While the books like to portray us as the "evil" house, HOL Slytherin is a very welcoming community full of some of the friendliest people around. We still value the characteristics that make us Slytherin, but bravery, loyalty, and intelligence are very welcome in the Dungeons!
Heads of House: Prof. Cody Lewis, Prof. Scarlet Leslie-Lewis
Professors: Prof. Amy Lupin, Prof. Saeir Darr
Prefects: Arianna Stonewater, Aurelia West, Will Lestrange
Scales are inner-house points that can be awarded for almost anything: participating in contests, completing your classes, earning quills and points, helping out new students, etc. You'll want to earn as many scales as you can to help your house team win the Green vs Silver competition.
The GvS competition is a year long battle between the two house teams. There will be activities for each team to participate in throughout the year and you can earn individual and team scales for participating!
The winner will be the team who has earned the most scales at the end of the school year. The more active you are in HOL and Slytherin, the better the chances your team will win!
Your team will be randomly assigned to you. Once your team is assigned, it won't be changed! Embrace the colour you've been given!

There are many ways to earn scales during the year:

Journals: posting in your journal will earn you five scales per week
Quidditch: botting is also worth scales
Roleplaying: posting the the Slytherin Tales RP forum
Monthly Challenges: meet the requirements each month
Top Points Scorers: to reward academic achievement
Scales are kept in a regularly updated spreadsheet. If you have any questions regarding the Scales spreadsheet, contact Prof. Cody Lewis.
Awards for scales are given at the end of each term.
Scales Race: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place
Best Hatchling: Given to the first year student with the most scales
S.H.O.P Award: Given to everyone who completes all S.H.O.P lessons
Dweller of the Dungeons: Given to the highest non-Slytherin scale earner
Dedicated Snake: Given to the top ten Slytherin scale earners at the end of the school year
At the end of the year, everyone who earned scales for the winning Green vs Silver competition team is given the Scales Race - Winning Team Member Award.
The Slytherin Quidditch Team (SQT) started from humble beginnings, but was built brick-by-brick into a perennial Quidditch Cup contender, placing 2nd from 2011-2013 and winning it all in 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017. But don't let that intimidate you; even the scariest Quidditch players have to start somewhere, and SQT is always looking for new talent! Are you ready to earn your stripes?
